32-33 week update

My 32 week Dr appt went well.  I only gained 1lb in the last 2 weeks-- my weight gain this time around is awesome-- not that I really care, I figure if I'm gonna get fat- I'm gonna enjoy it and pig out! : ) Baby's heart rate was between 126-130 and then all the sudden 148 I think-- the baby had just woken up or something and was bouncing around in there while she was listening to the heartbeat!

We are also still working on picking the date for the c-section-- my Dr will be in France (on vacation) so she won't be able to do it but wants to sort of hand-pick my surgeon for me. So her advice was to have it on a Wed or a Friday (that is when her favorite Dr's are scheduled there to do surgeries). Our plan has not changed... we'll schedule the c-section for the 40th week sometime... if I should happen to show signs of labor before that, than a vaginal birth is no problem for me- my Dr said I'm a great candidate for a VBAC and United is well staffed for any situation that could arise from that.  Most likely because of what happened with Henry (low fluids (which basically means the placenta stopped working), after 7 gel treatments and 9 days over due- I NEVER dilated, and when I got induced- Henry's heartrate dropped) that probably means it will be another c-section for me.  I really don't mind either way- one way or another we get a baby and whatever we do for the safety of baby and me is just fine... my c-section with Henry was very good- much better than I thought it would be- I recovered nicely so hopefully 2nd time around would be the same.

So this week I need to pick our baby's possible birthday!!!  I think Either July 21 or July 23- the 21st I'd be 40 1/2 weeks.. hmmmmmmmmm maybe we'll wait and surprise everyone??

Names-- so we're getting close on our baby names.  With Henry we went to the hospital with it narrowed to 2 girl names and 2 boy names and wanted to see the baby before we named him/her... just to be sure the name matched the kid!  We had Oliver and Henry and Lydia and Lyla-- funny is that Oliver was our favorite name but when we saw Henry for the first time... we knew he wasn't an Oliver.  This time I think we have our girl name nailed down because we both really like it.. and our boys name are getting closer-- we found 1 name yesterday with both like-- but there are a couple others that might still be an option.  Some people know the names we have picked-- but I'm not going to share it on the blog.

Overal- so far so good!  My blood pressure keeps getting better and better-- last time it was 108/60 and this time it was 112/56.  I feel pretty awesome until night time hits- I think not slowing down any wears on me towards the end of the night- my back and hips start to hurt a bit-- but that's what happens when you are towards the end of pregnancy, so no complaints from me.

Can't believe it's only 8 more weeks-- we have sooo much to do!!

Save 2nd base softball tourney- 32 weeks

Congrats to the Bosom Buddies team who played in the Save 2nd Base softball tourney which was a fundraiser for Breast Cancer-- we didn't win the games, but we won the beer drinking trophey- even without me!  Nice work team!  : )

Today I am 32 weeks preggers-- things are good.  Saturday sitting at the tourney this little baby was showing off... a bunch of us were just watching my belly jump around and then all the sudden the baby must have arched his/her back because you see this long skinny thing protrude right in center of my belly-- it was very strange since I've never seen baby Pagel do that before- but it was super cool!  I love this time in pregnancy!  The heat hasn't bothered me so far, I always like it warm so it feels nice right now- I may say differently in a few weeks though! : )

Henry is great- he also had fun Saturday at the tourney- we had him with us for the first game since he loves "ball game" he sat on his folding chair and played catch with his glove... then I brought him out to grandma and grandpa Pagel's house for him to play with Landon for a few hours... Ken and Pam then brought him back to the fields for us... we were sitting in the grass (done playing for the day) and he said he had to go potty- I did not want to attempt to go porto-potty with him, so we went behind a building, stripped down and there he went-- it was so funny helping him or telling him to spread his legs apart and hold "it" down.. he laughed and laughed and was trying to pee in many different places... everyone got quite the kick out of it.. then he wanted to go a few more times - but didn't go, he just liked to pretend and get the attention I think.  Then we let him run around in his undies (no diapers left) and he ws being so silly in front of everyone, rolling around just being goofy- it tired him out nicely!  So potty training is still going well, but not much progress the last week or so, just the same going at daycare about 3 times a day, but at home he goes like 5-10 times- probably because at home we have "potty treats" which are chocolate and daycare doesn't do that kind of thing.  But it's all good- he hasn't reverted at all, so I'm not worried yet, he'll still go through a couple diapers a day, but we sure don't go through nearly as many as we used too... so that's nice on mommy's checkbook!   Now I can spend that on diapers for new baby : )  A nice part is that even when we are out- like out to eat or even when we were at the zoo, he'll tell me he has to go.

We're getting some projects done around the house, first the new kitchen sink and faucet, then got rid of some "stuff" in the garage (still more to go though) and brendon built a raised bed to cover some cement cookies in the yard, got my garden planted, still need to plant the squash, watermelon, corn, and pumpkins up in dad's field though.  Brendon also just about finished the patio- he got the new rock and finished the paver bricks around the edge. just need to fill in with a couple more bags of rock oh and the sandbox is full now- I think Henry could make "castles" for hours!

Henry saw Brendon building the raised beds for me and quickly grabbed the tape measure and started doing whatever Brendon was doing- was very cute!
And then he found his hammer too- said he had to "fix" it : )

Out for ice cream cones!  : )

2 yr Dr Appt

Henry had his 2 year Dr appt today (yup- I'm two months late-- oops)  He did very well- he did have to get two icky shots and of course cried but was done crying right after... then we had to the lead test (finger poke) and he was just fine for that one-- never made a peep.

Our Dr said he's doing awesome- she was impressed with his verbal skills.

Henry is 3ft 1" which is 91% and weighs 30lbs which is 66% so he's growing just great.

31 weeks- fishing opener

This is from the baby website update I get... 31 weeks!  This week, your baby measures over 16 inches long. He weighs about 3.3 pounds (try carrying four navel oranges) and is heading into a growth spurt. He can turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin. He's probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy.

Brendon has been gone since Friday morning up north fishing so Henry and mom had a great weekend together!  Friday night my mom got Henry from daycare so we had dinner over there and played for a while.  Saturday morning we went to the zoo with the other fisherman widows and their kids!  We had lots of fun there, we went grocery shopping and over to see the Guertins to play later that night.  Sunday we ran errands, went to the park, went to visit a few people and then home for naps and play.  Henry's been trying to ride his new bike all weekend.  He gets on it himself and tries to pedal but can't quite figure them out yet.  He knows how to pedal the big wheel bikes- but those bikes don't brake when you go in reverse... so we're still figuring it out.  Right now I just push him and he pedals when he can--he loves loves it though!

Henry has also been doing awesome at potty training too.. even at the zoo he told me twice he had to go.  Anytime I say I have to go potty- Henry says me too.. so then we both go, anytime I ask him he says he has to go and usually does go, and then sometimes he'll just bring it up that he has to go..  he loves getting his potty stickers (he gets to pick a sticker out and put it on his potty chart) and then he also gets a potty treat.  We get very excited when he goes and he loves his "nundies".  He's been going potty around 10 times a day and only going through a couple of diapers a day now.  I hope he keeps this up!

We're excited for daddy to come home.. Henry asked a few times a day "where's daddy" then I remind him he's fishin and he says ok..  each morning he looks for Brendon in bed .. Saturday morning he ran in my room at 5am and goes "Hi mommy... daddy fishing and golfing ok"... I said ok and he climbed into bed and back to sleep we went!  : )  I'm so glad the weather was nice this weekend so Henry and I could sepend time outside-- he was sure sick of being couped up.

Riding his new bike!
Riding the teeter todder with grandpa... Henry says "feet up grandpa" and my dad listened well- had to snap a pic of that!
Fun at the park!
Fun at the zoo

Happy Mothers Day

Had a nice mothers day weekend.  We got up early and made an egg bake and went out to my Grandma Gergens for a little brunch, then home for naps, then to the Bears game and out to the Pagel's for BBQ.  Henry was really good all day!

Henry and Brendon also gave me some nice presents.. Henry made me a lovely flower at school- he tells me he painted it purple.. he's pretty much got all his colors down pat now... the only ones he mixes up are yellow and orange otherwise he kows most of them.  My boys also gave me some beautiful diamon earings!

Day before, Henry and Brady went to get dinosaur hair cuts.  The stylist puts gel in Brady's hair all spiked to make it look like a dinosaur...I thought Henry would do better if Brady went with... didn't do great, but he did ok thanks to Angie's iPhone.

Potty Training

So I guess we are potty training!  This is a lot earlier than I thought we'd be doing this, but without us even trying he just seems to be going!  For months now he's been going here and there and maybe a couple times a week- we've never pushed him to go but just encouraged him when he said he wanted to go.  I think it was starting this Tuesday that he came home from daycare and his sheet said he went potty 4 times!  Then Wed it was the same and he'd go at home too, then same today (Thursday) he went 4 times  and he told me he had to go at Beth's house tonight.  He still goes a little in his diaper sometimes too, but he's just been doing a great job at letting us know and making it to the bathroom.  I know it's only been a few days and kids sometimes revert while learning, so I don't really have expectations yet, but how great if he's really getting the hang of this!  To keep him energized about it, I put a "potty chart" up in the bathroom and bought some stickers so that each time he went he could put a sticker on the sheet, and he also gets "potty treats" when goes.  Daycare said if he keeps this up he could start wearing underwear next week! WHOA -- I better go buy more undies for him- I have maybe 10 pair, but I'm sure in the beginning he'll be going through a few a day.  So anyway, I'm very proud of my boy and I love that we didn't have to push him or ask him to do this-- I really think his daycare has a lot to do wtih it.  He's in a room with 12 other 2-3 year olds and see's all the other kids doing it, so monkey see monkey do!  Now if we could just get him to sleep all night -- that would be great!

New Shoes and "No put dirt in me hair Garrison"

I got Henry a new pair of sandals and he thought they were so cool last night that he had to wear them... then when it came to bed time he was not going to take them off... so ok, I let him wear his shoes to bed.  He also insists on putting them on and taking them off himself...even last night after bath time he didn't want to get a diaper or clothes on- but he wanted his shoes on!  The shoe fettish continues!  : )

I got home from work last night and right away so tons of dirt in Henry's scalp (not hard to see with our blondey) I said 'what happened to your hair'?  Henry quickly replied "Garrison did it"... Brendon and I laughed.  I tried to pick some out and told him that Garrison was naughty and should not put dirt in your hair.  Then at bath time we were scrubbing and scrubbing and scrubbing... couldn't get it all out.  I kept saying to Henry "you tell Garrison not to put dirt in your hair and tell Mike (Garrison's dad that Brendon and Henry see every morning) that Garrison was naughty.  Then I think at one moment I told Henry to put dirt in Garrison's hair too!  : ) so anyway- again this morning I told Henry to tell Garrison not to put dirt in his hair... then I called Brendon later to see how Henry did at drop off (he's been a little extra sensitive lately at drop off's) and Brendon said that Henry went right up to Garrison and said "no put dirt in me hair"!  Brendon and Mike both laughed... I love the conversation AND memory of a 2 year old!
