Just some updates

I haven't taken many pictures lately, but here are a few, mostly of when he wasn't feeling well the other day (he's so cuddly when he's not feeling good) Henry's been very good lately, this boy is soo an outside kind of a kid. He just loves to be outside, the other day he got up from his afternoon nap and just cried for about 15 minutes waiving bye bye and pointing to the door... so finally we went to the park and played in the swing and he was so happy. Henry and I try to take walks every single night around the neighborhood... I get tired of it well before he does.. he just hates going inside and makes a fuss about going in... but if I tell him we'll watch Barney when we go in, then it's usually better... Yes- our boy loves Barney!

We had Henry's school conferences yesterday and he's doing just awesome. The main teacher goes through a development sheet, similar to ones at the Dr, but a lot more detailed, and we go and checkmark things he's doing at what age. He's right on his age (13 months) for everything and then many thing are at the 15 and 18 months age range! They love how good he is at kicking balls and they laugh that he sits on balls like a stability ball! He'll be moving to the "toddler" room July 1st. All kids move when they turn 16 months-- I guess it's a state requirement. So in the toddler room he'll need to be doing a lot of new things and be "off" of a few baby things... so in the next few months we need to work on his transition of those things. The Montessori is very structured which is great and I know will really help Henry's development. I'm sure he's sick of those babies in the infant room by now too- he's ready to play with some big kids! : )

Henry's eating habits continue to change, "most" of the time he eats well at daycare, but sometimes won't. We've both noticed that he seems to eat better if one thing is on his tray at a time, rather than all the foods at once.. kinda funny I think- I know a lot of people that don't like to mix their foods, so maybe he'll be one of those! : ) Good news is he's eating veggies again.. he devours asparagus and likes beans and sometimes carrots, cauliflower, and broccoli.

This is Henry just chillin in the car on the way home from daycare the other day... I thought it was so funny how he puts his hands behind his head when he's chillin on his drive home- I think he was about ready to fall asleep.

Daddy and Henry cuddling with his blankey

This is me and Henry watching Barney when he was running a fever the other day... (ya, I took it myself: )

Easter

So I have no pictures from Easter!! I'm a bad mom I guess... but others took some I'll steal, so we'll be ok! : )

Saturday we had a great day outside in a Bears Fundraiser Baggo tourney-- Brendon got 6th out of 40 and I got like 39th probably... just kidding. Tammy and I did win 1 game!! : ) We brought Henry out to Ken and Pam's house and man did he have fun! He played outside with two of his cousins and his grandma and aunt Jenae... Pam said he took a 2 hour nap too! Then went home and Henry slept great that night-- he just loves being outside and it really wears him out!

Sunday morning started off with breakfast/brunch at our house with my mom, dad, sister Angie and her son Brady. We had a great meal and some relaxing! We did a little Easter Egg hunt for Brady and Henry... Henry just thought the eggs were balls, and would throw them as far as he could.. and Brady wanted to crack them all on our heads! Then Henry went down for his 2nd nap and as soon as he woke, we headed out to Easter #3 at Ken and Pam's house.. we got there just in time for Henry to see Miley for a little bit-- I think tose two like to play (or fight for toys) together! It's pretty fun watching them interact. Then more eating and more relaxing!

Henry got 3 wonderful easter baskets! From the Easter bunny at home it was just a color book and some color crayons (his first set), then Grandma Niebur got him a cute little plastic wagon filled with a chocolate bunny, PJ's, egg's with money in them, a pail and shovel and I can't even remember what else, then grandma Pam got him 2 buckets with bubble machines and candy, and toys and snacks in it. So a big thank you to all Henry's Easter Bunnies!

Now back to reality-- this weekend just flew by, we were busy each day. Hopefully we have great weather all week, so Henry can get his outside fix each day.... he just loves it. Last night when we got home after 7, Henry and I were just cuddling on the chair, and he saw Brendon open the deck door... Henry seriously took off running! He could sit out and play on the deck all day if we let him! What a funny boy. His eye and chin is also healing pretty well.. the shiner is almost gone and he'll probably have 2 little scars -- I try to put Neosporin on the part that will scar to try to help it heal better- but Henry just wipes it off. oh well- I'll keep trying.

The bruisers rough week

Henry is doing great-- he's just so happy, even with a black eye! So Thursday morning we were playing in his room , and he took another tumble... bit his lip, and then got a big scrape on his chin-- oh my, does he look beaten up... the poor boy. THEN thursday night Henry was playing in the laundry room and the door smacked him in the head. He only cried for a minute and then was just happy as can be. This poor kid is so tough... I know scrapes and bruises happen, but all at once? Really? Give this kid a break? Hopefully all of his battle wounds will heal nicely and he'll look "normal" again next week.

Here are some new pictures-- it was bath night last night- which also means Spaghetti-O night!

Right where the Spaghetti-O is hanging off his chin is where the new scrape is-- the spaghetti covers it nicely!

Update on our bruiser

Our little bruiser is doing just fine. Henry apparently got a lot of attention at daycare yesterday, they told Brendon all the little kids were going up to him and checking out his eye. He still has quite the black eye-- hopefully it continues to heal well, and only a little scar. Henry seems to be dealing with it great, he's just as happy as can be.

I didn't have time to take any new pictures this morning, but I'll get some tonight. Last night, Tuesday, we went out to eat with my family in Eagan for Beth's birthday. It was really good Mexican food! Henry had fun and kept giving my mom hugs-- it was so funny, he's actually try to turn her and then hug her.... she loved it! It's interesting being out with a baby that has a black eye and bandages on... I always think people are looking at us like normal and oh what a cute kid... but now it's oh no...what happened! Oh well, these things happen.

Henry's appettite has really changed.. he finally will eat chicken nuggets or strips.. eat ate them when he was really little then would never eat them.. not that we try too much, I try to stay away from the fried food for him, but when we are out- it's hard to get things for him. He also loves toast, cheese, Apple Sauce (all the berry apple sauces too) grilled cheese, any kind of pasta, tuna helper, mac-n-cheese, etc, most fruits and some veggies. He used to love veggies, and now, not so much. There is a lot more of course, but those are the fav's I think. He doesn't like much meat either- but that is pretty normal. This past week at Easter #1 with the Pagels/Dudens Henry got to eat his first cookie! He sure did like that! Last night at the restaraunt he ate his first chip-- he really liked that too! Things like that are only treats and not a very common occurance. We'd like to keep him off the salt and sweets as long as possible, but it's also hard to do. I know soon he'll love all the kid favorites.

I'll get some photo's up tonight or tomorrow.

The bruiser

Henry's battle wound has now bruised up pretty well... I keep taking pictures and I think Henry thinks I'm (we) are crazy... he just keeps smiling away. He hasn't picked at the steri-strips at all, and the only time he even touches it is when he's rubbing his eyes when he's tired.. I'm glad that it doesn't seem to bother him one bit... he sure is a tough guy.

Here are some new pictures... I think it looks worse in person though...

This was taken this morning before 6am!

Also taken this morning-- he's so cute in the morning-- love his messy bed hair!

This was taken Monday afternoon-- caught him on a blink

Also taken Monday but in the morning.

I meant to post this video the other day... Henry is obsessed with shoes, and always wants to wear shoes and these boots... I think it's funny watching him walk, so I did a little video. I guess I need to get out and buy the kid some shoes that fit-- we still usually just wear those crib shoes that really have nothing to them.. And my family would appreciate the "shutting of the cupboard doors".. ha ha.. I'm teaching him young that you don't leave cupboard doors open!! : ) I don't know why it's sideways though... hmm

Henry's battle wounds

Poor baby Henry was having so much fun tonight just playing like always, and then all the sudden boom! He fell and started crying pretty hard... I ran to him and saw a big cut under his eye. It started bleeding and yelled for Brendon to run upstairs and grab an ice pack and the tylenol. Then I called my friend Jill who is a nurse and she came over and checked it out. She put some steri strips on him, which was a little bit of a challenge, but she thought that should do the trick. Luckily I have the day off tomorrow and so does Jill... so I'll have nurse Jill check him out again tomorrow. I hope Henry sleeps well and feels all better in the morning. He's going to have a pretty good shiner though... I feel so bad for him but I'm glad I'll be home to give him extra lovin' tomorrow.

Here are some pictures of the wound. These were taken about 8:15, so it was way past his bed time too.. poor thing.

A fun night

Jesse and Teresa Johnson and the Conways and the Guertins came over Friday night for a bbq. Henry had soo much with with the Guertin kids and Conway kids. All 5 of them did just awesome and were soo good all night. Henry didn't get to bed until close to 9pm! He was just in such a good mood, I hated putting him to bed before then.. all those kids sure wore him out, he slept til almost 9am the next day!! (mommy liked that!). Then Freebergs came over and we all just hung out and caught up. It was a fun night- I really should have taken some pictures but I guess I was too busy to. It's so great to have Jesse and Teresa a little closer for a while, hopefully we see a lot more of them.

Brendon was in his glory this morning as he went golfing bright and early-- so as some of my friends said it best... most weekends I'll now become a single mom " ) It won't be so bad with Brendon gone a lot when the weather gets better.. Henry and I will have more stuff to do when we can go outside and play and go for walks and when it gets really nice- go swimming at my grandma's pool or our friend Jill's!

All for now I guess-- Henry is great. He's so much fun -- I can't get enough of that kid. I'll take some pics this weekend and try to post later.
