28 wk Dr appt

All good at the Dr appt except the LONG wait... she was about 45-50 mins behind schedule.. what a hassle..  Baby is doing great- heartbeat 144 - last time 4 weeks ago it was 160 (at 28 wks Henry's was 140).  I think little Pagel was just napping at this time!  I'm measuring at 28 wks.  My weight gain is awesome- I've gained 14lbs so far- though it totally feels like more!  : ) We still haven't decided on a date yet-- now she says I can wait until early June to pick the date, but today she says she's suggest scheduling it maybe July 24th... so we'll see. Plan as of now is if I dilate this time then we'll see what we can do with a natural delivery and if no dilation or softening occurs, then we'll go with the c-section.. Honestly- either way is fine with me.  My c-section was not bad at all with Henry and plus I got two extra weeks paid off of work... but natural deliveries of course are wonderful for many reasons too.. so however it turns out is fine with me!

Third Trimester!

Allright! The third trimester starts today-- the home stretch!  Man this pregnancy has gone quick- I know I have about 12 weeks left, but still-- really it flies.  The baby moves around a lot and I wonder if the baby is sideways a lot because I get kicks on left side and right side... but rarely top or bottom... who knows what he or she is doing in there-- just having fun I guess!  I love love love all the kicks- could watch my belly jumpin around for hours if I had the time!

We had a good weekend.  Saturday Henry and I went with my parents to pick up a new dog named Gus!  Gus is great- he's a purebread black lab that is 4 years old and was free and has all his shots and neutered too-- my parents couldn't have gotten a better dog, it was just what they were looking for!  Henry was giving Gus some treats and and Gus would eat them right up- then Henry would say "Gus, no eat me fingers".  So Gus sat with me and Henry in the back seat of the car... Gus is a big dog, so he sat on my lap most of the time... then when he got to his new home perked right up- I have yet to hear him bark or see him run... he was just out exploring the farm.  Hopefully he works out great- Henry likes him already and Gus just likes attention, so should be a good fit for my parents.

Then Saturday night we had Brady and we decided to go out to Unlce Theron's to do some stuff and let Brady collect eggs... he did that and then Brady found some really nice mud puddles... asked if he could jump in and I said sure... then of course Brady can't do something without Henry doing it, so they both jumped in the mud for a while... I made them strip down to their undies before getting in the car- then right home to the bath and I soaked their clothes in Oxyclean before the wash.. they had a lot of fun.

Henry also had his first, well I'm not sure what to call it experience... Brady had to go to the bathroom at Theron's, so I just took him behind a tree, then moments later Henry says "I pee at tree"... I tried to talk him out of it, but couldn't... so I brought Henry to the tree, took his pants and diaper down and sure enough he had to pee... he's got some "aiming" we need to work on, but I thought it was funny.  He knows everytime he pee's now and asks to be changed... not sure if we're ready for actual potty training yet or just work on some consistency with it... I know summer is hard to learn since it's so hard for them to stop what they're doing outside to go inside and pee... Henry hates coming inside to eat, let alone stopping to go pee... but we'll see. Maybe we'll just slowly ease into it... for the past week he's insisted on wearing his "nundies" over his diaper, so that is a step too.  : )

Sunday was spent celebrating my godchild Anna's confirmation at church then party later... Henry had fun playing with my cousin Rhyse who will be 2 in June and also my cousin Adam who is 5... apparently Adam told his mom that he liked Henry because he laughed as his jokes! Henry did not want to leave Adam-- but it was cute that Henry can play so nice with my little cousins-- I love a big family- cousins everywhere and every age!

Brendon also put a new sink in for me this weekend- he's been wanting one for a while- he hates the standard 8" deep stainless steel ones, so we (or I should say Brendon) repalced it with a nice 10" deep white sink and I got a cute new faucet too-- our old one that came with the house was a standard one that was leaking.

When we took the old junker out
The nice new one-- 10" deep makes a big difference and the white matches our appliances nicely- this one is a lot easier to clean up too- everything wipes up nice and doesn't leave streaks-- thank you dear! : )

So a fun busy weekend at the Pagel's!  On to the next week now!  I have my 28 week appt this week where I'll get a full check and all that good stuff to make sure the baby is doing ok still, and from now on I'll start to visit my doc every 2 weeks-- yeah! (I love OB appts). I'll be looking forward to getting more of my garden in this weekend too.  I'm happy to have my last session of school for this semester tonight too-- check one more off the list!

Helping Mom and Dad

Brendon got my garden tilled up yesterday and Henry had to help... He took the rake and was jumping on it (like you do a shovel) it was cute... then decided to go IN the garden and got his nice white shoes stuck in the dirt-- soo full of mud.. then he fell and got his pants, shirt and hands ALL dirty... but we just let him keep playing in it.. boys are supposed to get dirty-- just too bad he was wearing his new shoes and new shirt-- thank goodness for OxyClean!
Then we were picking rocks out of the garden and he went to pick one up and had to place the rock "just so" on our landscaping...  such a funny kid.

Baby Chickens and 27 wks prego

We got about 15 baby chickens for my parents yesterday and the boys (Brady and Henry) are loving it... I was out there for a couple of hours yesterday and Henry and Brady took them out of their "home" 3 times!  At first Henry didn't want to touch them, but then once he saw Brady do it and once he got a pair of gloves on then he loved them... it was soo funny watching him try to pick them up as the chicks kept running, by the time Henry would bend down to grab the chick... the chick had run off!  Just seeing a 2 year old do that cracks you up! Love it!

Today I'm about 27 weeks along... but more fun to say is (I think) exactly 3 months from today Baby Pagel #2 should be arriving!  If all stays the same with my surgery date, we're just 3 short months away!  I know this time will fly by-- I'm loving it.  The big kicks are here and this little baby loves to jump around from side to side...I keep seeing one side of my belly bigger than the other, then later I look and it's the other side... I think it's fun and I love it.  Henry loves feeling the baby too.  I'm SLOWLY working on cleaning out the babies room... it had been a junk/store room since we moved in to our home 2 years ago... I think I only have 2 more boxes to go through and about 4 bxoes to move to the basement for storage... then need some new blinds (the ones in there are broke and don't come down) and I suppose I should paint so the baby doesn't just have white walls!  : ) The crib is up and a few diapers (left over from Henry) are stacked away in the closet... need to get a dresser, get a few newborn neutral clothing out, and a couple other little things otherwise we're in good shape-- but knowing me and the time I seem to have (which is none) this won't get done til July!  My class this semester gets done in a couple weeks, so I'm excited to have my Monday nights back...but then I start my next class right away... at least it's an at home class, so I don't have to be gone a full evening.  Now I hope to work on getting my garden in and pumpkins and squash planted in my dads field up the road from my house and then get my outside flowers done... I have a couple of my hosta's thinned.. but need to do a few more still.  Once the outside stuff is ready ... then we can focus on getting the inside of the house ready for this new baby.

no more nukkie and 26 weeks

Henry never really used a nuk as a baby, and then at about 15 months old when we finally took away that last night-time bottle, he found a nuk somewhere and started loving it!  At daycare when he moved to the toddler room at 16 months they only let him have it at nap time, so we tried to only let him have it at bedtime... but we gave in sometimes and he'd have it during the day..   About a week ago one night at bedtime he was very crabby and I said you want your nukkie and he said "no" so from then on, I hid it.  Out of sight- out of mind right?  Yup- it worked- as simple as that for us!  He has asked for it a couple times during the day when he'd get mad, but I'd quickly change the subject and then all would be good.  It's been over a week now, so I think it's safe to report- we are nukkie free! Yippee.... Nuks certainly serve there purpose, but he was ready to be done with it.  I was worried about how to go about this process, so I'm so lucky it went so well.

Yesterday it was so warm out- but our son knows the routine of hat and coat before we go outside... earlier he had to have gloves on too (what a goof) then he added "moms glasses" to the pic.. he's so silly.  I tried to get him to take his coat off so many times, but he wasn't having it!

We got to have Brady at our house this past Friday..when we tell Henry Brady is coming over he goes "WILD" and then if he doesn't end up coming over he cries and cries for Brady Brady Brady... he sure loves his buddy Brady.  This pic was at the park a few houses down from our house, we were the first ones there and soon there were about 15 little kids there all between 2yrs and about 7 yrs old, so the boys had a blast and it was fun for me to hang with the parents in our neighboorhood too.

So Brady and Henry love to play and fight together- Brady tells the neighborhood kids (since he knows most of them from his school) that Henry is his little brother and I am his sister... he's so funny.  Sometimes he gets it right and says cousin.. it's cute either way! On Friday night there was no way Henry was going to bed with Brady staying up, so I decided to try to have them sleep in the same room.  Brady is great at sleeping anywhere- so we made a cute little bed for him on the floor next to Henry's bed.... Henry was so ramped up about Brady being in his room, he woldn't settle down.. so I laid with him in his bed and he was just talking and jumping around... pretty soon I hear Brady go "I knew this was a bad idea"... Brady quickly fell asleep and finally Henry did too- it was about 9:30!  Then at 5:45AM, the boys both run in our room and Brady goes I woke up so I woke Henry up too!  I was like great..... so they laid with us in bed until the sun came up and then I turned on the "toons" so we all laid in bed together for a good hour or so- so that was nice.. Then out to Brady's favorite- Little Oscars for breakfast-- Henry was very sad when Brady left, but we had a fun and productive day anyway.  : )

So I guess I'm 26 weeks prego today-- nothing new really, still freel great and starting to really grow.  I notice it totally depends on the shirt though- some shirts I look huge and others look like a normal 26 weeker..  other than that, we feel the baby move a lot, big kicks now and Henry likes to feel it too.  At my 28 week appointment we'll finally set the date for delivery!  : )

Happy Easter

well we saw the Easter bunny last week and then Sunday morning we had a fun little Easter Egg hunt at the house- Henry had fun with that and can't get enough of his peanut m&m's... he keeps looking for certain colors... like first he wants a blue one and has to dig around for blue ones and then he gets a green one... then tries to count them.. I just heard him count to 5 : )

What a stinker

This was my cousins Jaci and Courtney helping Brady and Henry color eggs at a baby shower that was hosted at my house for about 30 relatives!  Very fun and good to see baby EJ! PS- turns out brown eggs colored better than white eggs-- who woulda thought!

My grandma Niebur and Henry

Henry got my camera and took this picture of himself (along with about 30 other ones)

The Easter Egg hunt!

I FOUND IT

MORE!

We had 6 eggs filled with some candy and he had to open each egg and dump it on the floor...

Then the Easter basket-- Henry got a curious George movie that he loves, a Handy Manny color kit, a little watering can and a few treats

Happy Easter everyone!

Due Date Drama

Had my 24 (almost 25) week Dr appt this morning.  Baby's heartbeat was 160 bpm.. that is high! Last time I think it was 140-- must have been doing flips and extra busy in there today : )

So originally my due date was July 19th or could possibly be July 26th... but at our ultrasound 4 weeks ago the baby measured small and more like due date of August 2nd (though Henry measured small at the ultrasound too- and I knew exactly his date) but then when she measured me today- I measured 2 weeks ahead of schedule (she said I'm measuring at 26 weeks) so that just adds to our confusion of when to schedule this c-section... we don't want to schedule it too off or late since my fluids got really low with Henry but I don't want to go too early with my tendency to make a small baby... in 4 weeks at my next appt she said to come up with a date between July 19th and July 26th and we'll schedule the c-section for that and then we'll probably do an ultrasound around July 13th or 19th to make sure the fluid level is ok..  and if I'd happen to go into labor before that on my own- then awesome... but our back-up plan is the scheduled c-section.  Only bummer is she just booked a vacation to France for the 14-28 or something like that- so she won't be around to do my c-section (but that doesnt' really bother me-- can't even see the Dr anyway during the whole thing- and she didn't do Henry's either).  Typically she said we could do it on July 13th since I'd be about 39 weeks and she'd still be here- but given the issues with the due date and will probably have a small baby- she'd rather (and I'd rather) wait another week or so.. Ok- did you guys get all that?  Like I said- Due Date Drama!  But it will  work itself out in the next few weeks- we'll see if my measurements start matching up etc...

Last week My mom, dad, Angie, Brady, Henry and I went to Coates for brunch and to see the Easter Bunny!  At first the whole way there- Henry was going "no bunny" then as we were getting out of the car, we saw the Easter bunny walk in and he got so excited and said "bunny! bunny!".. he was not afraid of the bunny at all and loved all the chocolate the bunny gave out-- my child has sure developed a sweet tooth recently!

Brady and Henry were doing High Five, On the Side, cut the pickle- tickle tickle to the Easter bunny - it was soo cute!

Here is the Easter Bunny picture from 2 years ago when we did our brunch at Coates- Henry was only a couple weeks old!
